We attempted to define the sources of sodium intake for the Korean population at prepared dish level to provide a basis for developing sustainable nutrition policies and feasible programs for sodium intake reduction. Dietary intake data from 2008 and 2009 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey was used in the analysis for sodium intake sources. Sodium intake from individual dish consumed by each subject was calculated and used in delineating major sodium sources at dish and dish group level for sub-populations of different sex and age. Also, sodium intake was compared between eaters and non-eaters of some specific dish groups with considerable contribution to total sodium intake. The number of subjects included in the analysis was 18,022 and mean sodium intake was 4,600 mg/capita/day. Major sources of sodium intake at dish group level were in the following order: kimchi (1125 mg, 24.5%), noodles (572 mg, 12.4%), soups (488 mg, 10.6%), stews (399 mg, 8.7%), and cooked rice (284 mg, 6.2%). The magnitude of contribution to total sodium intake by soups and stews was different by age group. Sodium intake difference between eaters and non-eaters was much larger for kimchi group (2,343 mg for male, 1,452 mg for female) than for soups or stews. Interaction between consumption of aforementioned specific dish groups and age was highly significant (p &amp;lt; 0.0005) for both sexes. This study revealed an importance of having not only the control over sodium content of foods/dishes, but also the customized approach for different groups of population to accomplish an appreciable reduction in sodium intake.  objective was to examine the relationship between self-efficacy and 
subsequent weight loss during a 6-month weight loss intervention in 90 
white early postmenopausal healthy women. We hypothesized that 
participants with higher self-efficacy scores, either at baseline or 
follow-up, would lose more weight than those with lower scores. Each 
participant received a balanced meal plan with reduced energy intake. 
Nutritional and behavioral sessions were provided every 2 weeks during 
the first 3 months. Weight and height were measured at baseline, every 2
 weeks in the first 3 months, and at month 6. Three-day dietary and 
physical activity records and Weight Efficacy Lifestyle Questionnaire 
were completed at the same intervals. At month 6, participants lost 3.6 ±
 4.1 kg or 4.4% (mean ± SD) and decreased in weight from 82.2 ± 11.1 kg 
to 77.6 ± 11.4 kg (P &amp;lt; .001). When participants were divided into 
groups based on weight loss success (&amp;lt;5% or ≥5% of initial weight), 
logistic regression (controlling for age, energy intake, physical 
activity, attendance at group sessions, and previous weight loss 
attempts) demonstrated that higher self-efficacy for the Availability of
 Food subscale of Weight Efficacy Lifestyle Questionnaire (95% 
confidence interval, 1.03-1.17) and total self-efficacy (95% confidence 
interval, 1.00-1.04) were associated with a greater likelihood of losing
 5% or more of initial weight. Overall, participants who had higher 
total self-efficacy and self-efficacy to resist eating when food was 
available were able to lose more weight. Therefore, cognitive-behavioral
 efforts promoting self-efficacy may be useful for bolstering 
individual&#039;s confidence to resist eating under various conditions and

and kind of physical performance measures, 33 articles were evaluated. 
Higher fat mass was associated with poorer physical performance while 
higher muscle mass was a predictor of better physical performance, 
especially in the lower extremities. Additionally, evidence showed that 
higher muscle fat infiltration was a determinant of poorer physical 
performance. BMD was shown to be a good predictor of physical 
performance although the relationship was stronger in women than in men.
 Developing standardized methods for PP measurements could help in 
further investigation and conclusions of its relationship with body

			<title>About the salt</title>

			<description>영양학을 공부하고 나서부터 내가 제일 좋아하는 말이 있다. &lt;br /&gt;
&quot;You are what you eat&quot;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;영양학도, 영양과 건강에 관심이 많은 꼬꼬마 아이들까지 다 아는 말.&lt;br /&gt;
번역해보자면, 당신이 먹는 것이 당신이라는 말,&lt;br /&gt;
멀 먹든지 먹는게 몸으로 들어와서 재구성이 된다는 말이다.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;그만큼 우리는 먹는 것에 대해 관심이 많아졌고,&lt;br /&gt;
영양학 뿐만아니라 경제학 (식량경제학), 생태학, 심리학, 광고홍보학 등등&lt;br /&gt;
음식과 먹는 것에 대한 관심은 점점 늘어나고 있다.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;귀국후 점심 저녁으로 잦은 매식 (점심은 구내식당엣 100% 매식)과&lt;br /&gt;
하루종일 office에 앉아있어야 하는 현실,&lt;br /&gt;
간간히 들어오는 간식거리들이 나를 힘들게 하는 것 같아 &lt;br /&gt;
2012년부터는 도시락을 싸다니기로 결심.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;워낙 도시락 싸다니는데 내공이 깊은지라 별 신경쓰지 않고 싸다닌지&lt;br /&gt;
거의 2주가 지나간다.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;점심시간 직장동료 선생님들과 함께 할 수 없어서 살짝 아쉽지만&lt;br /&gt;
나만의 시간을 가질 수 있어서도 좋다.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;특히 구내식당에서 나오는 밥들과 매식들은&lt;br /&gt;
소금함량이 정말 너무 많아서 (어떤때는 김치종류의 반찬만 3개가 나오는 때도...)&lt;br /&gt;
맨날 몸이 붓고&amp;nbsp;농담반 진담반&amp;nbsp;&#039;sodium toxicated&#039;되었다고&lt;br /&gt;
생각될 때도 많았는데 말이지..&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;머 꼭 organic이니 바른 먹거리이니 이런게 문제가 아니라&lt;br /&gt;
적어도 내가 먹고 있는 음식이 어디서 어떻게 만들어진것인지&lt;br /&gt;
신뢰가 무너진 상태에서는..&lt;br /&gt;
그 어떤 음식이라도 먹기가 싫어진다.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
요즘 소금저감화에 대한 관심이 전 세계적으로 쏠리고 있다.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;미국에서는 얼마전 sodium intake에 대한 guideline을 발표하였는데,&lt;br /&gt;
심장질환 등의 문제가 있거나,&amp;nbsp;50세 이상 등등의&amp;nbsp;경우는 1500mg/day,&lt;br /&gt;
그 밖은 2300mg/day로 정하고 있다.&lt;br /&gt;
우리나라도 그렇고 미국도 그렇고 sodium intake의 평균량은 일일 4000mg을&lt;br /&gt;
넘고 있는 수준이다. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
그럼 과연 이 가이드라인을 지킬 수 있을까?&lt;br /&gt;
얼마전 Journal of Preventative medicine이라는 학회지에&lt;br /&gt;
Dr. Matthieu Maillot과 Dr. Adam Drewnowski (학회에서 너무너무 많이 봐서&lt;br /&gt;
친근하게까지 느껴지는 분, 발표도 잘하고 맨날 새로운 내용에 기대가 되는 분이시다)가 &lt;br /&gt;
이 가능성을 타진해보았는데,&lt;br /&gt;
미국 Dietary guideline을 따르면 거의 불가능하다는 것.&lt;br /&gt;
식생활을 전면적으로 바꾸고 과일, 야채, 건과류를 주식사로,&lt;br /&gt;
나머지 grain, meat은 거의 안먹는 수준으로 바꿔야한다는 것이 결론.&lt;br /&gt;
우리네 식단도 마찬가지일 듯 싶다. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;그렇다고 음식을 먹을때 아주아주 소금을 빼먹을 순 없지.&lt;br /&gt;
심지어 커피에도 pinch of salt를 타서 먹으면&lt;br /&gt;
그 향과 풍미가 매우 더해진다. 그만큼 소금은 우리 미각에 있어서&lt;br /&gt;
없어서는 안된 존재이다.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;우리나라는 특히 염장채소식품도 많이 발달되어 있어서 &lt;br /&gt;
부엌에선 장독대와 소금이 없어서는 안될 존재인데,&lt;br /&gt;
특히&amp;nbsp;foodie들 사이에서 유행하고 있는 sea salt.&lt;br /&gt;
이미 프랑스&amp;nbsp;등 유럽이나&amp;nbsp;지중해,&amp;nbsp;Middle east&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;지역에서는 소금이 음식의 맛을 좌우한다고 해서&lt;br /&gt;
유명 요리사들은 아주 비싼 소량의 소금을 공수해서 쓰기도 한단 사실.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;알고보면 이 sea salt는 바다소금, 우리나라 말로 하면 &#039;천일염&#039; 정도 되는데&lt;br /&gt;
바닷물에서 소금을 얻는 것이다.&lt;br /&gt;
우리나라의 경우,&amp;nbsp;신안 갯벌에서나고 있으며,&lt;br /&gt;
이 갯벌이 세계 3대 갯벌 중 하나라 더욱 관심이 증가하고 있는 상황이다.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;이러한 천일염, 또는 sea salt는 정제된 소금에서보다는 &lt;br /&gt;
다양한 미네랄들이 있다고 해서 건강에 좋다는 소문과 함께&lt;br /&gt;
비싸게 팔리기도 한다.&lt;br /&gt;
미네랄을 pinch of salt, 또는 dash of salt에서 얼마나 많이 얻을 수 있냐의 차이겠지만,&lt;br /&gt;
실제로 보통 소금과 이 천일염과 비교해 보았을 때 나트륨이나 그 밖의 미네랄 함량이&lt;br /&gt;
그리 크게&amp;nbsp; 차이가 나지는 않는다는 점.&lt;br /&gt;
전체적으로 sodium 섭취량을 줄이려고 하는 목적이라면&lt;br /&gt;
평소 넣는 소금의 양을 그대로 사용하도록 해야할 듯.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;죽염.&lt;br /&gt;
한때 정말 만병통치약으로 쓰였던 이 죽염.&lt;br /&gt;
죽염 치약도 나올 정도로 온 나라가 이 죽염에 열풍이었는데&lt;br /&gt;
혹자는 재투성이인 소금을 뭐하러 일부러 먹느냐는 --; 의견도 있었다.&lt;br /&gt;

&amp;nbsp;전~혀 도움을 주지 못하고 있는&amp;nbsp;장본인 중 하나.&lt;br /&gt;
요즘은 먹기보다는 맛사지 등의 미용목적으로도 많이 쓰인다지? &lt;br /&gt;
(글쎄, 일반 소금이랑 머가 다른지 모르겠다 ㅎㅎㅎ)&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;Iodized salt.&lt;br /&gt;
몇 국가에서 요오드의 섭취량 때문에 발생할 수 있는 &lt;br /&gt;
IDD (Iodine deficiency disorder, 주로 갑상선 질환)때문에&lt;br /&gt;
소금에 요오드를 첨가해서 파는 경우도 있다 (미쿡도 마찬가지).&lt;br /&gt;
우리나라 국민이라 워낙 해조류도 많이 드시고 하니 따로 iodized salt를 챙겨먹을 필요까지 있을까지만,&lt;br /&gt;
영양상태가 좋지 않은 국가들 - 아프리카, 티벳, 중동 일부지역 등지 에서는 &lt;br /&gt;
이 iodized salt를 챙겨먹길 장려하고 있다. &lt;br /&gt;
실제로 국가에서 중대 보건문제 중 하나로 인식하고 이 iodized salt를 &lt;br /&gt;
가가호호 보급하는데 힘쓰기도...&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;실제 맛을 보면 살짝 쓴 맛도 나고해서 국이나 각종 요리에&amp;nbsp;사용하면 요리 전체를 망칠 수 있으니 주의 :)&lt;br /&gt;

그렇다고 소금이 우리몸에 필요없다는 건 아니다.&lt;br /&gt;
한창 미국에서 영양학의 이해 강의를 하고 있는 중에, &lt;br /&gt;
가끔 얼굴보고 인사하던 친구를 커피샵에서 우연히 만나게 되었다.&lt;br /&gt;
워낙 운동을 좋아하고 먹는것도 잘 챙겨먹는 아이인지라 &lt;br /&gt;
아무렇지도 않게 &#039;그래 잘 지내고 있는거야? 어떻게 지내고 있어?&#039;&lt;br /&gt;
라고 물었더니 얼마전 병원에 실려갔다고...&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;이게 뭔말인가 하고 이야기들 들어보니 &lt;br /&gt;
운전하고 가다 갑자기 어지러워서 차를 길가에 주차했는데&lt;br /&gt;
그대로 쓰러졌다가 지나가던 사람이 911에 신고해서&lt;br /&gt;
병원에 실려갔다는 것.&lt;br /&gt;
알고보니 Hyponatremia (저나트륨증)으로 &lt;br /&gt;
갑자기 실신하게 된 것이었다.&lt;br /&gt;
맨날 자전거타고 여기저기 다니더만&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;
실제로 마라톤 대회 등지에서 이 Hyponatremia로&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;
갑자기 실신하는 경우가 있다.&lt;br /&gt;
만약에 잘못이라도 해서 머리를 심하게 다치거나&lt;br /&gt;
이 친구의 경우&amp;nbsp;그 자리에서 교통사고라도 나게 되면말이지...&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;음...&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;특히 내가 강의했던 영양학의 이해는 영양학을 전공하지 않아도&lt;br /&gt;
운동생리학 공부하는 학부생들이나 실제 학교 athletes들도 많이 있었기 때문에&lt;br /&gt;
예제로 이 이야기를 해줬던 기억이 난다.&lt;br /&gt;
숙제에 &#039;전 운동선수라 학교 영양사 선생님이 소금 섭취를 잘 모니터링 하라 했어요&#039; 하고&lt;br /&gt;
귀엽게 적어둔 학생도 있었던 듯...&lt;br /&gt;

			<title>Be Healthy in 2012</title>

			<description>1. 30days Challenge&lt;br /&gt;
우여곡절끝에 구정도 지나고 드디어 진짜 2012년 새해가 밝은 기분이다.&lt;br /&gt;
거의 한 10년정도 제대로 된 구정명절을 겪어보지 못한 나는&lt;br /&gt;
설날, 그것도 구정이 이리도 큰 명절인줄은 몰랐다.&lt;br /&gt;
작년 미국에서 돌아와서 추석을 지낼 때에도 이정도는 아니었는데 말이지...&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;오랜만에 친척들도 만나고, 윷놀이도 하고&lt;br /&gt;
다른해보다는 하루 짧았던 설날연휴였지만 나름 푹~쉬고&lt;br /&gt;
새해를 맞이한 기분.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;얼마전 신졍이랑 전화를 하다 나도 동기유발이 되어&lt;br /&gt;
근 8개월간 새로운 환경+직장에 적응한답시고 안해왔던 운동을 다시 시작하려 한다.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;요즘 신졍을 요가 삼매경에 빠젼 30일동안 매일 핫요가에 가는 Challenge를 했는데,&lt;br /&gt;
정말 바쁜와중에도 이렇게 신기하게 매일 요가가는거에 나도 감동해서&lt;br /&gt;
인터넷을 뒤지다가.. 새로운것을 시도하기보단, 그래, 달리기로 결심하였다.&lt;br /&gt;
오늘로 12일째이고, 40%가 지나갔지만 아직 31km밖에 뛰지 못하였다.&lt;br /&gt;
나머지 시간들을 더욱 분발하여 꼭 Challenge Completed! 해야지!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;지금은 혼자 100K for 30days challenge 진행중이지만&lt;br /&gt;
신졍의 요가 challenge가 끝남 나와함께 100miles for 30days challenge 같이 해준다했으니&lt;br /&gt;
그때 업그레이드 할 생각.. ㅎㅎ&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
2. Lunar&#039;s New year&lt;br /&gt;
구정이라고 집에 각종 선물들이 많이 들어왔는데&lt;br /&gt;
머니머니해도 제일 반가운 선물은 과일이고&lt;br /&gt;
(이렇게 선물로 들어오는 과일들은 질도 좋고 맛도 좋은 것들이다..&lt;br /&gt;
한국은 워낙 과일값이 비싸서말이지...)&lt;br /&gt;
두번째로 많이 들어온 선물을 보자면 아무래도 건강기능식품이다.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;도통 건강기능식품에 관심이 없는 울 엄마아빠..&lt;br /&gt;
서울집에 갈 때마다 다 읽어보고 하나하나씩 설명해주고..&lt;br /&gt;
그 종류도 어찌나 많은지 정말 아이디어에 깜짝 놀라고,&lt;br /&gt;
인터넷 검색해서 찾아본 가격에도 깜짝 놀라고..&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;홍삼엑기스는 아빠한테 하루에 한번씩 꼭 드시라고 말씀드렸고,&lt;br /&gt;
중년 여성들을 위한 건강식품은 엄마에게로...&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;나머지 비타민제, vitamin B complex 등등은 내가...&lt;br /&gt;
피곤할때 한개씩 먹구 기운차릴거야 ^^&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
3. I love coffee, I love tea~&lt;br /&gt;
엄마랑 나랑 둘 다 집에 원두커피가 줄어드는 것을 보고&lt;br /&gt;
지금 살짝 패닉상태에 있음. &lt;br /&gt;
커피를 줄여야하는데 정말 너무너무 힘들고 불가능해만 보인다.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;난 티종류도 많이 좋아해서 올 겨울에 마실 tea도 많이 쟁겨두었는데,&lt;br /&gt;
이제 골고루 마셔야겠다.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;어느날 인터넷을 뒤지다가 한국에서는 다이어트에 도움이 된다는&lt;br /&gt;
Mate차가 유행한다는 것을 보고, 한번 사마셔볼까 하다가&lt;br /&gt;
재고정리를 먼저 해야겠다는 생각으로 일단 보류하고 있었는데,..&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;허걱. 업무상 암 발생과 관련된 식품들을 정리하다가 보니 &lt;br /&gt;
요 마테차가 암을 유발할 수도 있다는 증거가 있다고 한다!&lt;br /&gt;
특히 구강암, 식도암, 후두암에 관한 증거인데, 확실하다고 하기 보단 &lt;br /&gt;
probable 정도이고,.. 생각해보니.. 그럼 소시지, 햄, 붉은색 육류도 먹으면 안되는건데&lt;br /&gt;
요런 것들은 자주 먹으니..&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;누가 mate차를 마시는 것에 대함 benefit analysis를 좀 해주면 좋겠다. &lt;br /&gt;
어느쪽이 더 무거운지? 암? 다이어트? ㅎㅎㅎ&lt;br /&gt;
