점심 산책 중에 예쁜 꽃을 발견해서 찍은 사진.

SLRCLUB에 올렸었는데, 어떤 분께서 고맙게도 꽃이름을 알려주셨다. 이름하여 흰등심붓꽃

원래는 제주에만 있는 꽃으로 알려졌다가, 세계의 여러 곳에 있는 것이 발견되어 제주특산 식물에서는 제외되었다고 한다.

해송이버섯(ぶなしめじ)

한국에서 집된장을 공수해온 관계로, 된장찌개를 끓여볼 요량으로 슈퍼에서 버섯을 하나 사왔습니다. 한국에서 많이 보던것 같아서 사오긴 했는데, 뭔지 정확히 알자고 네이버 일본어 사전을 뒤져봤습니다. 그런데 이게 웬일. 나오질 않더군요.
그래서 위키피디아를 찾아보니 이런 정보가 나오네요.

ブナシメジ(橅占地、学名Hypsizigus marmoreus)はキシメジ科シロタモギタケ属のキノコ。分布は北半球の温帯以北、日本国内では北海道から九州にかけて自生。

秋にブナをはじめとするトチノキ、シナノキ、カエデ等広葉樹の朽木、倒木および伐根に群生する。傘は高さ4～15cm、表面は白～赤みがかった灰色で、中央部に濃色斑状の大理石模様を顕す（日陰に生えたものには模様が見られない場合もある）。襞は白色で、やや密、柄に直生。柄は長さ3～10cm、傘に対して偏心性・中心性。胞子は4～5×3～4μmの広卵形～球形。

当初はシロタモギタケ(H. ulmarius)と同一視されていたが、傘に大理石模様が出る点などから別種であることが判明した。

EBS English 의 "영어회화 Situation 130"의 Unit 34 인 생일파티에 관련된 방송이었습니다. 그동안은 VOD를 순서대로 보고 있었는데, 오늘은 아침에 생방송으로 보았네요.(인터넷방송^^). 각 방송마다 주제가 다르기때문에 올리는 순서가 크게 관련없을 것 같아 먼저 올려봅니다.

[Dialogue]

A:Tell me about some birthday traditions in Korea.
B: We have a soup called "mi-yeok-guk". We always have "mi-yeok-guk" on our birthdays.
A: A special soup for birthdays? That's interesting. What else?
B: Koreans don't open presents in front of others. Westerners open gifts as soon as they receive them, don't they?
A: Yes, that's what we typically do.
B: Here's another interesting custom. If friends go out for a birthday party, the birthday person pays for everything.
A: Aren't friends supposed to treat the birthday person?
B: Not in Korea. Suprise birthday parties are not that common at all either.
A: Wow. I didn't know that. Birthday traditions are quite different, aren't they?

생일인 사람을 the birthday person 이라고 하면 됩니다. 어린 경우 person 대신에 boy 나 girl을 붙여도 되구요.

자카르타 공항의 Google Map 사진

자카르타로 출장을 가게 될 거 같아, 잠깐 짬을 내어 Google map 에서 Jakarta 공항을 찾아보았습니다. 정식명칭은 수카르노 하타 국제 공항(Bandara Internasional Soekarno-Hatta)이라고 합니다. 사진을 보니 어찌나 비행기가 많은지. 굉장히 복잡해보이는 공항이었습니다. 그러던 와중 왼쪽부분에서 이상한 모습을 발견했습니다.

첨부한 사진의 왼쪽 윗부분을 보면 반쪽이 된 비행기가 보이고 그 옆에는 날개가 살짝 부서진듯한 비행기가 보입니다. 다른 비행기들도 굉장히 다닥다닥 붙어 있는 것을 볼 수 있습니다. 어떤 일이 있었던 걸까요? 궁금..
혹시나 폐기처분할 비행기를 임시로 모아두는 곳이 아닌가하는 생각이 살짝 들었는데, 그건 아니겠죠? 이걸 보니 비행기들의 무덤이라고 하는 미국의 공군 기지가 생각나서 찾아보았습니다.

EBS English 영어회화 Situation 130 의 Unit 7, 핸드폰 메시지, 2010년 3월 2일 방송분입니다.

이예랑씨의 인터뷰 장면이 무척이나 돋보이는 프로입니다.

[Dialogue]

A: Hey, seems like you've got a text.
B: Oh, you're right. Let me check.
A: Are you good at text messaging?
B: Who me? I'm not bad, but I have to look while I do it.
A: Some people just text without even looking at their phones.
B: Oh, you bet. Younger people are especially good at that.
A: I'm okay with text messaging in Korean. But it takes forever to text someone in English.
B: You're just not used to it.
A: Probably. So who's the text from?
B: Nothing. It's just a spam. I hate these messages.

오늘의 내용에서는 text가 동사로도 사용될 수 있으며, 문자보내는 행위를 표현할 수 있다는 점을 아는 것이 중요해 보입니다.

EBS English 의 영어회화 Situation 130 의 Unit 6 - 휴가때 한 일에 대한 내용입니다. 2010년 3월 1일 방송분입니다.

[Dialogue]

A: Only two more days until my vacation.
B: Are you excited?
A: I can't wait. I've been looking forward to this trip for months.
B: Where did you say you were going?
A: We are going to a resort near Bangkok, Thailand.
B: That sounds nice. Is it a group package tour?
A: Kind of. But we have a lot of free time. Where did you go for your last vacation?
B: Me? I went to Europe.

Dialogue 에 대한 수업이 끝나면 이예랑씨가 외국인과 직접 대화를 하는 코너가 있는데요, 꽤나 흥미롭네요. 이예랑씨의 목소리도 좋고.

금번 방송에서는 look forward to 의 용법에 대한 내용을 다루었습니다. to 다음에 명사나 동명사가 나오는것에 유의해야 하구요, 때때로 to 부정사처럼 사용하시는 분들이 계시는데, 조심하시길^^

EBS English 에서는 2010년 2월 개편을 맞아서, 새로운 시리즈들이 방송되고 있습니다. 남는 시간 짬짬이 들을 생각으로 여러 프로를 살펴보던 중, 괜찮다고 느낀 것이 바로 "영어회화 Situation 130"입니다. 난이도는 그다지 높지 않은(실제로는 기본적인) 내용이지만, 실생활에서 사용할 수 있는 다양한 표현을 재미있게 풀어내고 있는 느낌입니다.

[Dialogue]

A: My brother got married last week.
B: Oh, really? How was the wedding?
A: It was alright. It was one of those typical korean weddings.
B: Did he have it at a wedding hall or a hotel ballroom?
A: At a wedding hall. There were so many guests.
B: How many came?
A: Roughly 300 from each side of the family.
B: That's almost 600 altogether. That's a lot. Western weddings rarely have that many guests.
A: Yes, I've heard. They're more private, aren't they?
B: Uh-huh. Only family members and close friends are invited.
