조형물 사진 #1 (120425 Heart)

많은 사람들이 공원, 혹은 특정 장소에서의 조형물들의 사진을 찍는다.

~~(좀 거침없이 썰을 풀자면)~~ 그런 사진은 대게 별 볼일 없는 사진이 된다.

그렇다. 애초에 조형물 사진을 찍는 것은 별로 재미 없는 작업이다.

이렇게 찍어도 저렇게 찍어도 결국사물의 본질은 변하지 않기 때문이다.

그래도 조형물 사진이 좋은 건, 쉽기 때문이다.

그냥 찍을 수 있기에 쉽다는건 아니고-_-a

움직이지 않는다.

사진은 찰나에 만들어진다. 찰나의 순간을 포착하는 것은, 찍사의 노력에도 달려있지만 많은 부분 큰 운도 달려있다. 허나 조형물이나 풍경은 움직이지 않는다. 움직이지 않는 피사체. 그것 만큼 생각하고 연구할 시간이 충분하다면 찍는 사람에겐 큰 무기가 될 수 있다. 누가 가르쳐주거나 시키지 않아도 사진을 처음 접하는 많은 사람이 이러한 풍경이나 조형물 등을 대상으로 사진을 시작하게 된다.

또 하나, 조형물 사진은 풍경과는 다르게 구도와 빛에 따른 효과를 조절하기가 좀 더 용이하다.

처음 사진을 접하는 사람들이 연습하기 가장 좋은 테마라는 뜻이다.

그렇게 누구나가 조형물 사진을 찍는다.

그럼 왜 내가 찍은 조형물 사진은 대게 그저 그런 사진이 되고 마는 걸까.

빛에 대한 이해 부족과 Story telling의 부재라고 지적해본다.

빛에 대한 이해 부족은 나중에 기회가 되면 이야기 해보자-_-;

Story telling.

사진에는 이야기가 담겨있다. 이야기가 담겨있지 않은 사진은 감동이 덜 할 수 밖에 없다.

이야기를 만들려면 어떻게 해야할까. 조형물 단독의 주피사체만으로는 이야기가 만들어질 수 없다.

부피사체가 필요하다. 그래야 이야기가 만들어진다.

쉽게 말해 조형물만 찍어서는 이야기가 만들어지지 않는다는 말이다. 그럼 무엇을?

풍경도 좋고, 인물을 포함시켜도 좋고 다른 조형물과의 관계를 만들어도 좋다.

여기까지가 서론-_-;;;;

산정호수 나들이를 갔다.

호수 한 가운데 나름 유명한 조형물이 있었다. 어디서 봤드라.. 그래, 평화누리공원 조형물-_-)!

요거요거-0-); 땅바닥에서 기어 나오는...

산정호수 버젼은 물 속에서 기어나오더라. 재질도 금속으로 빛 나는 재질이고.

뭐 암튼, 내 시선을 끌기는 했지만 셔터를 이끌지는 못했다. 그렇게 조형물 아래를 지나가다 문득, 조형물 틈새로 강렬하게 내려꽂히는 태양을 발견했다. 머리가 빛 나네? 빛 나는 머리?에서 시작된 생각이 꼬리를 물었다.

셔터 수는 많지 않았다. 구도를 정하기 위해 자리 바꿈을 하였고, 매 촬영시 노출을 확인 하였기 때문에 최종 구도에서 많은 브라케팅을 요하지는 않았다. 30여컷에서 한장의 selection.

최종 노출 : ISO200, 50mm, F11, 1/1000sec

그리고 원본...

역광인데다가 태양이라는 광원이 사진내에 포함된 극단적인 노출 환경이었기 때문에 DR400 세팅을 해야했고(후지 만세!!) 그럼에도 가슴 근처의 구멍들의 명부는 날아가버렸지만, 어느 정도의 암부 묘사는 살릴 수 있었다.

몽환적인 느낌을 추가하고자 색온도를 조금 낮추고, 약간의 비네팅을 추가하였다.

x10 손에 들어온지 일주일. 100여컷의 테스트 샷.
아직 손에 카메라가 익지 않은 터에 이것저것 만져보고 있는 중.

블로깅 했었던거 같은데 찾아보니 없네.
어따 쓰긴 쓴거 같긴 한데;;;

처음, EXR 센서 기사보고 이건 대 to the 박을 외쳤었지만
5프로 이후로 후지에서 DSLR 발표기미는 보이지 않았기 때문에
나의 EXR 센서에 대한 관심은 뚝.

암튼, 요즘 들어 후지 똑딱이들이 EXR 센서를 달고 나오고 있는 중. 요즘이 아닌가;;
서브 카메라에 대한 욕구는 있었지만 애초에 센서가 코딱지 만한 똑딱이는 신경을 안쓰고 있어서
후지동에서 EXR 똑딱이들에 대한 글들은 전부 패스해왔음.

다시 EXR센서에 대한 관심은 생겨난 이유는 x100의 EXR 센서 미탑재 때문이었던거 같다.
그리고 처음 만난 EXR, x10.

About EXR sensor

Fujifilm EXR

Fujifilm's EXR technology was first introduced back in 2009 in the F200 EXR. The X10 uses a considerably larger sensor than the F200 did and one based on CMOS, rather than CCD technology, but the underlying idea is the same: to create a sensor that can be used in a series of ways to improve its resolution, dynamic range or noise performance.

There are two aspects to this design: a sensor where alternate rows of photosites can be read separately, giving you the option of treating the chip as if it were two interleaved sensors, and a color filter pattern designed to make the most of this capability.

The color filter array

Almost all digital cameras use what it called a Bayer color filter array, named after the Kodak engineer who developed the pattern. Over the years it's proved to be an excellent way of capturing both color and detail in a scene.

However, much of what the EXR system tries to achieve depends on being able to combine neighbouring lines of pixels, and the Bayer pattern isn't well suited to that. Instead, the EXR array can be thought of as two Bayer patterns slotted together, with one of them 1/2 a pixel offset, compared to the other.

The reasoning for this start to become apparent when you consider how close the nearest neighbouring photosite sensitive to the same color is. With the Bayer pattern, there's always an entire photosite gap between any two photosites of the same color whereas the EXR arrangement puts pairs of similarly colored photosites together. The benefits of this approach become clear when you see how this is used.

The EXR sensor can be used in three ways. You can either manually select which mode is used or you trust the camera to choose for you. In the X10, EXR Auto mode assesses the scene and compares it to the 54 scene types it recognises. It then checks whether there is motion in the scene, giving it a total of 99 different patterns it can respond to. It then chooses the appropriate white balance, exposure and EXR mode:

SN mode

In low light situations, the camera uses its SN mode which combines data from the pairs of similarly-colored photosite. Because noise occurs randomly, averaging out the noise between two photosites reduces its effect in the final image. This combination of pixels results in a 6MP image, of course.

DR mode

The DR (Dynamic range) mode also makes use of the proximety of similarly-colored photosites. In this mode the sensor starts reading from alternate lines of photosites (ending their exposure), part of the way through the total exposure time.

This means half the sensor stops capturing light early, reducing the chance of it overexposing and retaining more information about hightlight detail. This additional highlight detail is combined with the information from the neighboring fully-exposed photosites in the final images. Again the DR mode images are 6 megapixels.

	The EXR sensor is able to 'underexpose' half of its photosites by reading out data from them before the end of the full exposure. Again the pattern of the color filter array means pairs of pixels can be easily combined.

HR mode

The High Resolution, 'HR' mode treats the sensor just as any other camera would - producing one output pixel per photosite. The EXR pattern isn't quite as good at capturing resolution as a Bayer sensor with the same pixel count though - the downside of clumping together pairs of similar colors is that the gaps between one pair and the next is much greater than the spacing between similarly-colored photosites in a Bayer sensor.

The degree to which this is an issue will depend on the sophistication of the image processing, which we'll see when we conduct a full review.

기억에 먼지가 자욱하다.

방정리를 하다가 카메라 가방을 열었다. 먼지가 자욱하다.
메모리 카드를 꺼내고 컴퓨터에 연결해놓고 포트에 물을 올렸다.

2011년 10월 15일.
숫자만으로는 전혀 기억되지 않는 날.
그렇게 3개월전의 시간은 메모리 카드에 고스란히 남아있다.

그렇게 시작된 기억 저편에 대한 회고.
커피 한 모금과 담배 한 모금.

9년간 기록되어온 시간들.
시간 속에 잊혀져버린 인연들, 지나가버린 연인들.

슬프고 힘든 사진이 있을수가 없다.
조작된 추억, 사진 속에 기억은 좋은 일들로만 남아있다.
그리고 그때의 그 감정들 마저도 시간속에 무뎌지고,

'왜 그랬어요?' 라던 마음속의 물음,
마음 속 한 구석 울리던 그 물음은 어느새 '잘 지내?'로 바뀌어가고 있다.

사진정리를 하다보면 매번 이렇게 된다.
그리고 사진첩을 닫으면 다시 기억에 먼지가 쌓여간다.

전엔 주로 PVP놀이하다가 대격변 이후 업적놀이 까지는 아니긴 하지만서도
'평판질과 탈것모으기'로 점철된 플레이...

요새 TV를 보던중 어라? 싶었던 모 건설회사의 CF.
몇개월전 우연히 모 사이트 게시판에서 본 애니메이션의 그림이었다.
아버지와 아들의 애니메이션이었는데, 애니 제목도 노래 제목도 기억이 나지 않아 다시 찾아볼 수 없을 줄 알았는데 뭐 이런 기회로 찾아서 다시 볼수 있다니 ㅎㅎ
